Career
Ursula Sorensen is a teaching and learning consultant for the Center for Teaching & Learning at Brigham Young University, where she has worked for the past five years. She brings 19 years of experience in faculty development and 25 years of teaching in higher education, partnering with faculty to strengthen academic excellence and student success.
Ursula has presented at local, national, and international conferences on mindfulness, engaged learning, and the use of AI in teaching. She has also collaborated with colleagues across institutions to present on Students Consulting on Teaching programs, helping faculty incorporate student voice to enhance learning.
Her work is grounded in BYU’s mission to develop disciples of Jesus Christ who are intellectually enlarging, spiritually strengthening, and committed to lifelong learning and service.
She has been married for 38 years, is the mother of seven sons, and grandmother to 13 grandchildren. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys Peloton training and is an enthusiastic football fan.
