Mid-Course Evaluations

Research shows that courses with mid-course evaluations generally have higher student ratings at the end of the semester. By completing mid-course evaluations, students have the opportunity to (1) reflect on the course goals and their individual progress in achieving those goals, (2) inform the instructor about what is working or not working in the course, and (3) understand that the instructor cares about their learning experience in the course. The Center for Teaching & Learning’s Web site has more information about the benefits of conducting mid-course evaluations, techniques for conducting mid-course evaluations, and classroom assessment methods that can be used to supplement mid-course evaluations.

You can access the Center for Teaching & Learning’s Mid-Course Evaluation Tool by clicking on the link below. The Mid-Course Evaluation Tool allows you to set up survey that will be automatically e-mailed to all the students in your course. After the survey closes, you will be e-mailed the students’ feedback in an Excel document.
