Learning Outcomes Wiki
For ease of access by students and faculty, learningoutcomes.byu.edu is the wiki-site where viewers can read the outcomes, evidence, and assessment for each of BYU’s 415 degree programs, as listed by college. It is anticipated information posted on this Web site will be linked to other BYU sites, e.g., AIM, My Map, Program home pages, Advisement Center home pages, Blackboard.
Learningoutcomes.byu.edu addresses the challenge and opportunity that each BYU student and BYU faculty be able to:
- Locate and explain in their own words the expected learning outcomes for their degree program. “What are the main outcomes (skills, knowledge, attitudes, experiences) for which your degree program is preparing you?”
- Articulate Evidence (direct and indirect) that demonstrates the student has achieved the stated outcomes for his/her program. “What are the ways you show you have achieved the outcomes stated for your degree program?”
- Show results of ongoing assessment activities lead to improvement of learning and teaching for faculty: “What are some examples that you are analyzing and improving your program so learning and teaching continue to improve?”
The Learning Outcomes Web site contains a robust “Help” section that identifies how to edit Web site content. It also provides contact information for Teaching & Learning Consultants who can assist program coordinators in developing and posting learning outcomes, as well as support documents listed as FAQ attachments.
