Administration
The administrative team is focused on maintaining the Center’s mission, which is to improve teaching and learning at BYU. This team provides oversight and daily management of the Center’s projects and priorities.
Evaluation
The Evaluation Team is responsible for planning and conducting evaluations of needs, processes, products, and systemic elements associated with the CTL. The team collaborates with instructional designers, faculty, and administrators to integrate evaluation principles into instructional efforts. In addition, this team plans and conducts usability studies as part of CTL’s product evaluations as well as supervises usability studies for campus academic and administrative units.
Instructional Design
The Instructional Design Team is responsible for designing, directing, and implementing instructional technology projects. Instructional designers work on a development team that includes art directors, developers, and production specialists. They advise faculty on advantages, disadvantages, feasibility, and advisability of various methods of instructional technology delivery as they relate to specific projects.
Production
The Production Team includes art directors, programmer/developers, audio visual producers, and project managers. This team is tasked with creating high-quality media products based on sound instructional design principles. This team is rich with talent in illustration, graphic design, web design, video production, 3-D animation, and media programming.
Teaching & Learning Consultants
The Teaching & Learning Consultants are responsible for developing and managing relationships with faculty, department chairs, and deans. They consult regularly with these university clients to determine needs, objectives, and strategies to improve instruction across campus. Our team of Teaching & Learning Consultants works closely with faculty members and our Instructional Design Teams to design innovative and outstanding instructional materials.
Walk-in Center
The Walk-In Center staff collaborates with faculty and Instructional Designers to produce multimedia projects that help improve teaching and learning. Walk-in Center employees specialize in small, quick-turn-around projects that generally fall under the following categories:
- Video filming, editing, and digitization
- Design Animations
- Scanning
- Classroom PowerPoint Presentations
- iClicker Training and Support
