The BYU Tree Tour website allows students and other interested individuals to learn about the trees on BYU campus, including descriptions, culture, and care information.
The Plant and Animal Sciences Department runs an award-winning, nationally recognized landscape-design program—and the BYU grounds are just as known and award-winning. The department and Dr. Phil Allen needed a way to support their own students (in courses ranging from basic field botany to intensive landscape design), and to provide information about campus trees to anyone who is interested. Dr. Allen has assigned students to gather, correlate, and double-check the culture, care, and landscape design information for 114 representative tree species all over campus to populate the Tree Tour website.
